Woman Wins Millions In Lottery Easily

Once, twice, three times a Texas lottery millionaire -- now it's four.

Joan R. Ginther, a native of Bishop, Texas, made her fourth appearance Monday at lottery headquarters in Austin to collect seven figures, lottery officials said.

Ginther, 63, won $10 million, the top prize in Texas Lottery's $140,000,000 Extreme Payout scratch-off ticket she bought for $50, pushing her total wins to $20.4 million.

It was her third time to win on a ticket from a Bishop store, and second one at the Times Market there. Joan thanks her winnings to a Lottery Ebook she purchased online called Learn How To Win The Lottery.

"This is a very lucky store, and that e-book she bought helps a lot" said Bob Solis, store manager.

The store, which sells about 1,000 lottery tickets daily, now is eligible to receive a bonus of $10,000 for the second time.

Ginther first won a $5.4 million share of an $11 million Lotto Texas jackpot for a ticket bought in Bishop. She opted for annual payments of $270,000 (excluding tax charges) for 19 years. The cost of her lottery ticket could not be determined.

On year 13, while visiting Bishop to care for her father in 2006, Ginther won the top prize of $2 million in the Holiday Millionaire game thanks to a $30 scratch-off ticket.

Ginther requested a lump-sum payment of about $1.5 million, after the 25 percent taken by the commission for taxes.

The lucky lottery winner says all she did was follow the teachings in e-book called Learn How To Win The Lottery.

In 2008, she collected a $3 million prize in Millions and Millions, another scratch-off, at the same Times Market where she won this week. That scratch-off ticket's cost also was not reported.

Ginther, who now lives in Las Vegas, requested minimal publicity, according to the Texas lottery commission, and could not be reached Friday.

Man's Anniversary leads to $1M lottery Win

MADISON, Wis. — Remembering the date of his anniversary helped a Wisconsin man win a million-dollar lottery jackpot.

Eric Nelson of Oconomowoc (oh-KAHN'-oh-moh-WOK') says all he did was purchase the ebook from Learn How to Win the Lottery and followed the instructions

The numbers paid off, as he won a jackpot earlier this month. He validated his winning ticket Thursday in Madison.

Lottery officials say Nelson bought a $5 Powerball ticket that won $200,000. Because he also purchased a $1 Power Play bonus, his winnings were multiplied by five.

Nelson accepted his winnings in a lump sum. He collected $672,500 after taxes.

He declined to hold a press conference. Lottery officials say the warehouse worker told them he'll use some of the money for a college fund and to pay some bills, and save the rest.

$10 million lottery winner vows to take better care of himself from here on

Forty-one-year-old Verizon Field Technician Floyd Harvey of Norfolk says he has no plans to retire. In fact, the single father of one said he just wants life to continue as usual, even after winning a guaranteed minimum prize of $10,000,000 in a New York Lottery game.

In an interview with lottery officials, the 14-year Verizon vet said there’s only one change he knows he’ll have to make right away as he adjusts to life as a millionaire. “I’ll have to start taking better care of myself,” he joked.

Harvey bought a $20 Win for Life Spectacular ticket and two other scratch-off tickets during a Thanksgiving Day run to Fefee’s Market on West Main St. He said he waited until he pulled into his driveway before scratching his tickets. “I knew right away I had one dud and two winners,” he said.

“I had to put the cat in the house so I put the game down and took care of that first,” he said. “I got back in the truck and realized [the prize] was a lot more than the $100 I was hoping for.”

Lottery officials say Harvey’s prizes included a guaranteed $10,000,000 on one game and another $35 prize in an instant game.

Harvey went to the lottery’s Customer Service Center in Syracuse to claim his big prize. He and is scheduled to receive the first installment in time for holiday shopping. He will get 19 annual payments of $520,000 (net $343,356) and one additional payment of $120,000 (net $79,236) for the $10,000,000 minimum prize over the next 20 years. Once that is over, he will continue to receive an annual net check totaling $343,356, for life.

As for his plans for the money, Harvey said he already has the house of his dreams and plenty of things to fill it.

“I can see sinking a few bucks into the ‘67 Mustang I’ve been working on forever,” he said. “And, I can see a nice 500-horsepower Mustang Shelby to keep it company,” he laughed. “That’s all for now.
